El pianista Mariano Díaz y el guitarrista Joaquín Chacón, dos de las figuras más importantes de la escena española, nos presentan este nuevo cuarteto. Estrechos colaboradores desde hace muchos años, comparten proyectos conjuntos como Skytrain, con el que han publicado 3 discos desde su inicio en 2011.
Ambos tienen brillantes y dilatadas carreras, han tocado con grandes figuras internacionales y, ambos tienen relación con el jazz vasco ya que desarrollan una importante labor docente en Musikene, donde son maestros desde hace muchos años. El cuarteto lo completan dos jóvenes músicos de la cantera de Musikene: el contrabajista Joan Codina y el baterista Aitor Bravo.

Joaquín Chacón, guitarrista madrileño y una de las grandes figuras del jazz español, Chacón pertenece a la generación de músicos jóvenes surgida en España en la década de los 80. Colaborador de los grandes del Jazz Hispano: Jorge Pardo, Javier Colina, Perico Sambeat, Chano Domínguez, Pedro Iturralde, Guillermo McGill, etc.......
Con una trayectoria impresionante, ha liderado sus popios grupos y ha publicado maás de 10 discos como lider o colider; además, ha desarrollado una intensa labor como sideman al lado de importantes figuras internacionales: Jim Snidero, Bobby Floyd, Mike Richmond, Billy Hart, Al Foster, Kevin Hays, Keith Copeland, Uffe Markussen, Ben Stivers, Pedro Ruy Blas, Bobby Floyd, Perico Sambeat, Jorge Pardo o Doug Raney, y un largo etc......
Paralelamente, Joaquín ha desarrollado una larga carrera como pedagogo, habiendo trabajado en un gran numero de centros privados de enseñanza del Jazz, Seminarios internacionales, clinics, etc., siendo en la actualidad profesor de la Escuela de Música Creativa de Madrid, y de MUSIKENE, Centro superior de música del País Vasco, donde ha editado su primer libro didáctico: “BE-BOP, el lenguaje del Jazz”. También recién editado su segundo libro: “ARMONIA PARA GUITARRA ACTUAL"

Estudió en Buenos Aires en la Universidad de Artes y Ciencias Musicales (UCA) y con Santiago Giacobbe. En Nueva York estudio con Bruce Barth y Aaron Goldberg y en Barcelona con Albert Bover y en ESMUC.
Mariano Díaz es uno de los Pianistas, Teclistas, Recording Artist más demandados en la escena musical europea.
Ha formado parte de grupos top como Perico Sambeat Quintet, Eric Marienthal, Marc Miralta-New York Flamenco Reunion, Gerardo Nuñez Ensamble, Javier Colina-Antonio Serrano Quintet y Pedro Iturralde Quintet, entre otros.
Ha tocado y ha grabado con Perico Sambeat, Pedro Iturralde, Paquito D'Rivera, David Liebman, Jorge Prado, Sonny Fortune, Seamus Blake, Dick Oatts, Chicago Simphony Orchestra.
Actualmente es profesor titular de MUSIKENE (Escuela Superior de Música del País Vasco).
