Aritza Castrok (Barakaldo, 1983) perkusio klasikoko ikasketak egin zituen Barakaldoko Udal Kontserbatorioan, eta Peer Wyboris-ekin hasi zituen jazz bateriako ikasketak, eta, ondoren, Madrilgo Escuela Creativa delakoan jarraitu.
Musikenen jarraitu zuen goi-mailako ikasketekin, eta, goienean, Jazz bateriako espezialitatean lizentziatu zen Iruñeko Pablo Sarasate Goi Mailako Musikako Kontserbatorioan.
Orduz geroztik, jaialdi ugaritan parte hartu du, hainbat areto eta antzokitan jo izan du eta lehen diskoa argitaratu du bera lider zela: Familia.
Aritza Castro Project sortu zen kantutegi propio bat sortzeko beharretik, pertsonala eta bakana, eta azken emaitza soinu fresko bat du, egungoa eta oso berezia. Aritza Castro berak guztiz zehazki definitzen du konpositore gisa egiten duen lana nondik datorkion:
“Konposatzen hasi nintzenean, ohartu nintzen nire inspiraziorik handiena nire neska-laguna, nire familia, nire animaliak eta nire lagunik onenak zirela. Saiatu naiz nolabait haiek helarazten eta sentiarazten didatena adierazten nire lan bakoitzean. Eginkizun handi horretan, gogoa nuen nirekin arituko ziren musikariak ere nire lagun benetakoak izan zitezen, era horretan, konexio hain barneko eta beharrezko hori sortu ahal izateko. Hori dela eta, proiektu honek ezin zuen beste izen bat eduki, FAMILIA baizik".
Aritza Castro (Barakaldo, 1983) cursa los estudios de percusión clásica en el Conservatorio Municipal de Barakaldo y comienza sus estudios de batería jazz con Peer Wyboris y posteriormente en la Escuela Creativa de Madrid.
Continúa sus estudios superiores en Musikene y finalmente se licencia en la especialidad de Batería Jazz en el Conservatorio Superior de Música Pablo Sarasate de Pamplona.
Desde entonces ha participado en numerosos festivales, ha tocado en diversas salas y teatros y ha publicado su primer disco como líder, Familia.
Aritza Castro Project nace de la necesidad de crear un repertorio propio con carácter personal y único y el resultado final es un sonido fresco, actual y muy característico. El propio Aritza Castro define perfectamente el origen de su trabajo como compositor:
“Cuando empecé a componer, me di cuenta de que mi mayor inspiración son mi chica, mi familia, mis animales y mis mejores amigos. He intentado de alguna forma plasmar lo que ellos me transmiten y me hacen sentir en cada uno de los temas. Para esta gran labor, me apetecía contar con unos músicos que fueran también mis amigos de verdad y de esa forma poder crear esa conexión tan íntima y necesaria. Por eso, este proyecto no se podría haber llamado de otra forma que FAMILIA”
